Scrymgeour Armorial Bearings

Arms of James Scrymgeour, 2nd viscount of Dudhope (a lion rampant wielding a scimitar) impaled with those of his spouse, Lady Isabella Kerr (or Carr), daughter of Sir Robert Kerr of Cessford, 1st earl of Roxburghe (on a chevron, three mullets, and a unicorn’s head erased in base). Initials to dexter: IVD; to sinister, ILC. Date: 1643, which was the year of James’s succession to the title. (The metal plaque above is inaccurate.)
